Podere Dadino: Classic Tuscan Country House with Modern Comforts

Podere Dadino is a two-story stone and brick farmhouse, typical of the area. It has been carefully restored, retaining the original, classic elements of brick arches, beamed ceilings, terra cotta floors, and some interior walls of exposed stone and brick.
This is an ideal holiday home for a family with visitors, two families, couples, a group of friends, or those on sabbatical looking for a peaceful place to write and recharge.
We (the owners) live in the USA, and rented houses in Tuscany for 25 years before finding, buying, and furnishing Podere Dadino in 2005 and 2006. In our years of renting other houses, we had many good experiences as well as some that were disappointing, so we knew what we wanted and what makes for a satisfying stay in the Tuscan countryside. Our goal is that you feel at home when you come through the door, and that everything is in place to make your stay both relaxing and memorable. It is our vacation home too – and we are very demanding!
We have a lifelong local man (1 kilometer away) who takes excellent care of the garden and grounds and is available for any repairs or problems. A very efficient local woman oversees the house cleaning and can also provide delicious Tuscan home cooking for your family or group. The swimming pool is professionally cleaned and serviced every week. And finally, our friendly and bilingual (English-Italian) property manager in nearby Florence will make sure all is well.
We provide a frequently updated House Book that tells you everything you need to know about the workings of the house (appliances, etc.), and also shares our experiences and those of previous guests, with plenty of suggestions on restaurants, food specialties, shopping, events, places to visit, things to do, and much more.
The spacious and comfortable main house totals 338 square meters (approximately 3500 square feet). You enter the house through a covered portico (porch, with outdoor table for 8/10). Inside, three large arches divide the eat-in kitchen with antique farmhouse table, the dining room with table for 8-12, and the sunny living room with large open fireplace. On the other side of the kitchen are a bathroom with shower, a study with large work table and day bed, a tv room with access to the garden and pool area, and a laundry room with plenty of storage space. A stone staircase leads upstairs to the high-ceilinged, airy, sitting room; four bedrooms (two bedrooms, each with queen size bed; and two bedrooms, each with king bed); two baths (one with shower, and one very large bathroom with shower and separate jacuzzi tub); and a large walk-in closet.
The attached guesthouse (an additional 42 square meters, or approximately 430 square feet) has one small and one larger bedroom (each with queen size bed); a small bath with shower; and a kitchen-sitting room.
The appliances are new. The kitchens are fully equipped and suitable for gourmet cooking. All mattresses, couches, and armchairs are new, comfortable, and of high quality. The bathrooms have modern fixtures. All windows and doors have mosquito screens. Otherwise, the house has been decorated and furnished in traditional Tuscan country-style, with characteristic colors, fabrics, and antique pieces for an authentic and comfortable Tuscan experience.
